Biographical note and Research Interests 

Ana Paula Pinto graduated in Human Studies from Faculdade de Filosofia de Braga at U.C (1989), where she also concluded, under the supervision of Professor Maria Helena da Rocha Pereira, her Proficiency in Science and Pedagogical Aptitude (1998) and her PhD, co-oriented by Professor José Ribeiro Ferreira (2007). She has been a faculty member of Faculdade de Filosofia since 1990, and ever since 2010 has also been Assistant Professor of the Centro Regional de Braga (Regional Centre of Braga), where she has tutored several curricular units, mainly in the area of Classical Studies, but also Portuguese Language and Literature. She is an integrated member of of the Center for Philosophical and Humanistic Studies (CEFH) in the same institution. Her research interests include Greek and Latin Language and Literature (particularly Homeric Epic Poetry), Comparative Literature, Culture, Classic Religion and Mythology, and its reception in the Literature of Portuguese Expression. She has participated as a lecturer and has organized several international scientific meetings on the survival of the themes and authors of Antiquity,  and published in magazines and editorial projects the resulting texts with peer reviews. She is an integrated member of the International Network of Scientific Excellence EVROPA RENASCENS. She also collaborates as portuguese coordinator in the elaboration of the international research project ”Memória de materialidade: figurações culturais da morte”(Memory and materiality: cultural figurations of death”) (celebrated between Universidade Federal de Goiás and Universidade Católica de Braga). She is member of the editorial of Revista Portuguesa de Humanidades (Portuguese Journal of Humanities) from FFCS. And also recently assumed the institutional role of Librarian Teacher.
