Biographical note and Research Interests

Ângela Sá Azevedo, Ph.D. in Psychology, in the specific area of Motivation, by the University of Porto. Master in Psychology, in the area of Developmental Psychology and Early Intervention, by the University of Porto. Degree in Psychology by the University of Coimbra. Assistant Professor since 1993, and since 2004 at the Catholic University of Portugal, in Curricular Units such as Education’s Psychology, Vocational and Career Development, Learning Difficulties and Special Educational Needs, Motivation and Emotion, Developmental Psychology. Supervisor of curricular and professional internships (Order of Portuguese Psychologists). Coordinator of the Master in Educational Psychology and effective member of the Scientific Council since 2008, at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of UCP Braga. Representative of the Psychology’s area of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences – UCP Braga, at the Scientific Advisory Board of the Portuguese Psychologists Association. Specialties attributed by the Portuguese Psychologists Association (OPP): Specialization in Educational Psychology; Advanced Specialization in Vocational Psychology and Career Development and Advanced Specialization in Special Educational Needs.
Trainer in the area of Adaptation, Living in Communities and Self-Regulation of Learning in the Minor Diocesan Seminary and in the Major Diocesan Seminary in Braga. Consultant of Instituto Nun’Alvres. Researcher in areas such as Motivation, Self-Concept and Self-Esteem, Self-Regulation of Learning, Learning Difficulties and Special Educational Needs, Pedagogical Relationship and Learning, Bullying and Psychosexual Development, Adaptation to University, Vocational Development and Career.
