Biographical note and Research Interests

Degree in Psychology, specialization in Clinical and Health Psychology (2002; University of Minho); master degree in Psychology of Motivation (2005; University of Coimbra), and PhD in Health Sciences – Biomedical Sciences (2011; University of Coimbra). During the PhD (2007-2010), funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), carried out an internship, also funded by FCT, as research associate, in Section of Perinatal Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry at University of London (Kings College London). Invited Assistant Professor, since 2014, at Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences – The Catholic University of Portugal, member of the Centre for Philosophical and Humanistic Studies, and coordinator of the master in Clinical and Health Psychology. Invited researcher at Department of Psychological Medicine, of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra, since 2011. Research interests focused on personality, cognitive processes and a broad range of psychiatric conditions. She is currently the coordinator of a research project entitled ‘Patterns of Internet use and psychosocial correlates of problematic Internet use in university students‘. Author and co-author of several national, and international scientific papers, and regular reviewer for international and national peer reviewed journals.
